Atlanta is an international hub that highlights gastronomy, a diverse social scene, and unique attractions. Moreover, the city provides an opportunity for visitors to explore a more exclusive side of its main attractions. It can be overwhelming trying to decide the best way to discover Atlanta’s luxury side. Therefore, Beau Monde Traveler has compiled a list of the top five luxury experiences in Atlanta for the refined traveler. Within our list, we’ve included activities  ranging from a daring helicopter tour of the city to grabbing craft cocktails at the Red Phone Booth speakeasy.

1. A Helicopter Tour of ATL

Firstly, at the top of our list of luxury experiences is a helicopter tour of Atlanta through Atlanta Helicopter Tours. For those looking for a romantic night out or for an opportunity to see Atlanta’s scenery, a helicopter tour achieves this. Patrons can choose between a 30 or 45-minute ride through Buckhead, Stone Mountain, Vinings, and Atlanta. Both options provide unparalleled views of Atlanta’s main attractions. These attractions and must-see-sights that guests will see include the Governer’s mansion, Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium, and more. Additionally, another aspect of this tour that adds a sense of elegance to the experience is the complimentary wine that guests can enjoy as they soar through the Atlanta sky.

2. VIP Tour of the Georgia Aquarium

The Georgia Aquarium opened its doors in 2005 and holds the title of the largest aquarium in the U.S. Every day, visitors flock to see the galleries such as the Cold Water Gallery which contains African Penguins. For an exclusive experience, visitors can purchase a VIP Behind the Scenes Tour. In fact, this tour includes access to popular exhibits, a visit to the Correll Center, an interactive session with an expert, and a photo souvenir. This Atlanta experience is tailored to aquatic animal lovers who want to see how the largest aquarium in the U.S. operates successfully and advocates for conservation efforts.

3. Dinner at the Sun Dial

Atlanta is a hub for gastronomy as more exclusive restaurants open, each providing a new layer of culinary excellence for patrons. One restaurant in particular known as the Sun Dial, provides patrons with a 360 view of the Atlanta skyline which is why it’s number three on our list. The Sun Dial encompasses a restaurant, a cocktail lounge, and an observatory. Our recommendation is to reserve a table at the Sun Dial’s restaurant timed with when the sun sets so that Atlanta’s golden skyline is visible while enjoying one’s meal. The Sun Dial’s menu itself is focused around a farm-to-table mindset with dishes such as a Black Pepper Mushroom Ravioli served with truffle oil or the Lobster Thermidor served with bearnaise and seasonal vegetables. The restaurant’s upscale menu combined with the outstanding views of Atlanta’s downtown hub makes dinner at the Sun Dial a luxurious experience.

4. Watch a Broadway Show at the Fox Theater

Another historical treasure on Atlanta’s list of attractions is the Fox Theater. The Fox Theater originally opened in 1928 as a home for the Shriners organization which focused on an Eastern style of architecture. Inside, the theater contains numerous archways, gold leaf details, a painted blue sky with twinkling stars, and a red-carpet entryway. The architecture and stunning interior design provide the perfect backdrop to witness live performances such as the Broadway show Wicked which will be at the Fox Theater until the end of July. To create an exclusive experience, patrons can purchase a Marquee Club Access along with their tickets which provides 90 minutes early show access, complimentary food from a seasonal menu, premium beverages available to purchase, and access to private restrooms. A full list of Broadway shows that will be coming to the Fox Theater is available on their website with notable mentions such as Annie, Aladdin, and Hamilton.

5. Drinks at the Red Phone Booth

At number five on our list is a unique prohibition experience at the Red Phone Booth, Atlanta’s exclusive 1920s speakeasy. According to the principle of a true speakeasy, patrons will have to find a phone number to dial at a restored London phone booth outside of the establishment. Patrons can either get the number from a member, concierge, or a friend who visited the Red Phone Booth. Another restriction to gaining access to the speakeasy is the refined dress code which patrons must oblige. As for the Red Phone Booth itself, the speakeasy features an extensive cigar program, craft cocktails, and small Italian-inspired appetizers or Neapolitan-style pizza.

Atlanta is a multi-faceted city with experiences ranging from exploring the shops within Little Five Points to enjoying a fine dining meal at the Sun Dial with 360 views of the skyline. The luxury side of Atlanta is vast with various opportunities to enjoy the city according to one’s comfort zone. For those who enjoy heights, a helicopter tour through the city or dinner at the Sun Dial provides aesthetic views of Atlanta. For those who prefer a more relaxed experience, a VIP tour at the Georgia Aquarium, watching a Broadway show at the Fox Theater, or simply grabbing a drink at the exclusive Red Phone Booth speakeasy is for you.
