The Pau in France event’s press officer Juliette Feytout has announced that the Pau’s organizers are working on a celebration to mark the event’s 30th edition. In the midst of numerous sports events being cancelled left and right due to the pandemic, this extremely prestigious event is definitely something to look forward to.
The Concours Complet International is the official metric for the equestrian sport called eventing. There are only six events in the whole world that are recognized as 5-star CCI competitions. The Pau is the only French event to hold this title. Every year, some of the best riders in the world gather in a dreamy French town for a week-long stream of eventing competitions. Eventing is no mere horse race. It covers dressage, cross-country, and show-jumping; feats that require both athleticism and artistry.
All of the action takes place in the picturesque town of Pau in France, which looks as though it comes straight from a French fairy tale. It even has its own riverside castle, which has been converted into a national museum open to visitors. It stands on top of a plateau above the valley of Pau Stream, and offers a painting-worthy panoramic view of nearby mountains.
As if the classic beauty of its landscape weren’t enough to tempt visitors, Pau in France is primarily a tourist centre that specializes in spas. It was the birthplace of King Henry IV, one of France’s most beloved kings. This heritage sight, though modernized, has retained a regal and luxurious charm fit for royalty. Even though you may be in town just to watch the Étoiles de Pau, it would be a shame to miss out on all the other wonders this quaint French town has to offer.
Though nothing is set in stone yet, excitement for the Pau in France is guaranteed to lift spirits. Event organizers have promised to make the 30th edition more extraordinary than usual, with a ‘special flavor’ to watch out for. After months spent stuck in our homes, we’re probably due some fun at the races.
