The luxury travel industry has grown exponentially with the rise of social media and travel influencers. As such, new faces are rising in the industry, each trying to make a name for themselves. It takes hard work to become a successful luxury travel brand, especially as the desire to add a unique viewpoint to the industry becomes crucial. Through her background as an award-winning journalist, KeKei has accomplished just this with her brand KeiKei Travels. KeiKei Travels is more than a luxury travel brand just like how KeiKei is much more than a luxury travel influencer. She’s a journalist, a writer, and a storyteller with a following of 165k for her brand. Beau Monde Traveler has had the distinct pleasure of speaking with KeiKei to learn more about her brand’s success. Including, what makes her stand out as a leading figure within the luxury travel industry.

KeiKei’s brand known as KeiKei Travels includes both an Instagram account showcasing high-quality visual content and a blog containing guides based on collaborations with luxury brands. The brand itself includes KeiKei and her husband Lewis. KeiKei brings her writing skills to create written content for the brand. Together, the team continues to make memories through their travels and collaborations. In fact, this year marks the 40th country they’ve visited. This shows KeiKei and Lewis’s passion for exploring the world together and expanding the KeiKei Travels brand.

KeiKei’s career initially began with a degree in Broadcast Media and Journalism from the University of West of Scotland. Using her skills as a Journalist, she quickly made a name for herself within the media and published numerous works. Her published pieces can be viewed at well-known outlets such as the Daily Mail, National Geographic, and more. However, KeiKei found herself tired of reporting on the news as the stories often were grim so she shifted focus and got a job at a travel magazine. As she began writing pieces for the travel magazine, she found herself again in a position where she was unhappy with her career. KeiKei wanted to write travel pieces that interested her instead of just the magazine so she created the KeiKei Travel brand. Her at-the-time boyfriend and now husband Lewis supported her decision and together they worked hard to make KeiKei Travels into a successful brand. Finding herself in a position where she had amassed a large following, she soon quit her job at the magazine and focused on continuing to create content for KeiKei travels.

Transitioning into the Luxury Sphere

Initially, the KeiKei travel brand had a general focus on all travel topics which allowed KeiKei to focus on her passion for traveling with her writing. However, KeiKei soon realized that a large majority of her audience was interested in the luxury side of travel. Whether it be a curiosity as to how wealthier individuals traveled or a desire to understand how this side of the industry operated, KeiKei quickly understood that her brand needed to transition into the luxury travel and fine dining sphere. This transition went smoothly as her followers enjoyed both her social media content of Instagram reels to her KeiKei Travels blog containing detailed travel guides. Through collaborations with luxury hotels, cruises, and Michelin-star restaurants, the KeiKei Travels brand successfully makes a name for itself as a leading face of luxury travel. It’s not just the collaborations that make KeiKei’s followers interested in her content however, it’s the trust they have in KeiKei. As KeiKei shared in her interview, she doesn’t accept half of the collaborations offered to her because she’s extremely selective as to what her brand represents. This selective nature is what allows her followers to not only trust her brand but utilize her travel guides to experience her suggestions. This is just one of the many perks of her brand as KeiKei shared, this connection that she has with her followers makes the hard work worth it.

The Importance of Visual Content

An important aspect of KeiKei’s brand is her utilization of both written and visual content, which maintains an informational and storytelling quality to her brand. This storytelling nature of KeiKei Travels is best explored through the brand’s Instagram account which is captured by both KeiKei and Lewis. Each picture and Instagram reel is of the highest quality to represent a new collaboration within the luxury sphere, drawing both new and followers in. The subject matter of the visual content often contains KeiKei and Lewis as well as the stunning imagery of the collaboration which allows the pictures to come to life.
