There used to be a time when you had to go on a hike to find spas in the Victoria countryside just to classify them as relaxing. From hot springs to massages or just a relaxing sauna-hot-tub combo, there is no better way to spend your days off. Nowadays, there is a plethora of options right in the centre of Melbourne, creating a new problem. It may feel overwhelming choosing the best one to go to. So to make your decision process easier, here are our top five spas in and around Melbourne. Some are right in the middle of the CBD whilst others are a little more outside of the city so if location matters, keep reading.

Chuan Spa at The Langham

L.M. Spa at Lancemore

This day spa is found in Werribee Park in Lancemore Mansion. The estate even has rooms for guests who choose to stay for a weekend getaway. There are only few spas in the city which can flaunt their history and cultural significance like this one. From the 1920s until about the 70s, the Mansion itself was the background for St Joseph’s Seminary. Today, the spa takes the spirituality from its history and transforms it into a well-rounded experience for their guests.

The L.M. Spa includes seasonal offers such as their Winter Warmer Packages. Aside from the traditional treatments such as facials and hot stone massages, some of their packages include a glass of sparkling. You may even feel adventurous and want to try a different treatment such as a hammam, a type of steam bath associated with Islamic roots.

The Feel Good Hood

In one of the city’s most social suburbs, the Feel Good Hood is a non-for-profit wellness centre in the heart of Hawthorn. A spa trip is more traditionally considered a one-day experience. But what if you implement it into your regular lifestyle? This holistic space not only offers wellness treatments but also includes a gym and cold dips.

If you’re into working out but are looking to elevate your routine to involve infrared saunas and personal training, this is the one for you. Not only that, but the team behind the Feel Good Hood are highly involved with the local community so you would be supported a small cause by being a part of their membership.

Their spa menu is extensive so make sure you’ve got time to try them all at least once, it’s worth it.

For a comprehensive treatment, they offer packages which not only includes spa services but dining options as well. Whether you want to go for a gossipy brunch with your girlfriends or on a romantic day trip with your significant other, they offer an array of choices to cater to whatever. Green smoothies, milk baths and meditation lounges are just some of the added bonuses within the establishment.

You know it’s a good one when they’re not only located in Melbourne but in Byron Bay as well. It also means that their spa menu offers just about anything you can think of. Sometimes all you need is a quick sauna break to relax before getting back to your routine. Other times, a full body plunge in rose water, a hammam massage and non-invasive skin facial is the bare minimum. That is why this list of spas is perfect to make an informed decision on what you feel like you need the most. Whether you are just traveling through or whether you’re a local, everyone needs a spa-related day off once in a while.
