Day Two: Exploring Downtown Orlando and Lake Eola Park

Want to hit the city streets? Hop in your car and head downtown to see what all the fuss is about! Take in the eclectic mix of modern skyscrapers and historic buildings, check out local art galleries and the street murals for a creative arts fix, or wander around Thornton Park District, known for its charming boutiques and relaxed, walkable atmosphere.

Or if you’re already craving some fresh air and the great outdoors, then Lake Eola Park is calling. Here, visitors can enjoy the mile-long loop around the lake, taking in the sunshine, the beautiful picnic spots, and snapping some photos along the way (don’t forget to take some pictures of the stunning fountain in the middle of the lake, especially when it’s lit up at night). 

Remember – Downtown Orlando is compact, so it’s easy to explore on foot. Park your car nearby and enjoy a relaxed, walkable day. 

Day Three: Escape to Wekiwa Springs State Park

After a little swimming and water-based fun? Arrive as early as possible at Wekiwa Springs State Park to make the most of this breathtaking location. A firm favourite for families and groups alike, here you can try snorkeling in the crystal clear waters, rent a kayak or canoe on-site and paddle along the Wekiva River (remember to look out for turtles), and do a spot of wildlife watching. Keep an eye out for deer, wild turkeys, and even the occasional alligator.
