Take a leap back into the 1950s, when travel was for the fabulous. This was the era of jetsetters, when Elizabeth Taylor flurried out of jumbo jets in a swing dress and kitten heels, and Marilyn Monroe descended to the runway drenched in fur and clinging to a Bermuda green suitcase. This was the time when travel was marvellous, when Anita Ekberg frolicked in the Trevi fountain, ball gown and train amok. If you take the zeal of the golden era of travel and combine it with a 50s cover of Vogue, then you’ll find something similar on Wanderlust Voyager’s page. Funnelling travel as it should be – magnificent, fabulous and simply the very best – Roxana Cozma’s luxury travel content combines new slants of Europe’s most austere historic properties with romantical tropical refuges. Fabulous dream travel vacations never go out of style, and that is Roxana’s take on luxury travel.

Laying bare some of the most opulent historic hotels in European strongholds such as Cote D’azur Prague, and Lake Como, as well as new angles of tropical aeries like the Maldives, Roxana’s Instagram page is strictly for dreamers only. Her content presents travel as it should be: fanciful, fascinating, and fabulous. However, while travel content creation is her craft, it isn’t Roxana’s only orbit. A successful sales manager for a French multinational corporation, she trades in suits for swing dresses during her holidays and brings the same conviction and devotion she has for business to her travel niche. As such, her Instagram has become a doctrine for the discerning luxury traveller, and a collection of some of the most trusted and esteemed luxury travel properties in the world. At the same time, unlike full-time luxury travel influencers, Roxana has the freedom to select, critique, and recommend with unfiltered honesty and integrity.

Six years ago, travel influencing in its first incarnation was the microcosm of TripAdvisor. Instagram was still in its infancy, simply a small collection of unposed photos and landscapes compared to its wide jurisdiction today. Fuelled by a fascination with infinity pools and a deep-rooted sense for adventure, Roxana and her husband, an architect, documented their honeymoon in the Maldives, followed by their next city break with a few snapshots from the Skydeck of the Marina Bay Sands. She was one of a select few luxury travel influencers who hit the jackpot. The regal cityscape of Singapore went viral, and Roxana identified the gap in the market for creative content that would inspire and guide the next generation of luxury travellers.

"Laying bare some of the most opulent historical properties in European strongholds, such as Cote D’azur Prague, and Lake Como, as well as new angles of tropical aeries like the Maldives, Roxana’s Instagram page is strictly for dreamers only."

She began to organise and refine her craft, becoming a luxury travel expert and looking at cities and hotels through her own unique lens At the same time, travel was Roxana’s anchor and reservoir of strength. Having moved through the process of discovering, treating, and recovering from a tumour in her breast one year before, her perspective of time and travel had been transformed. A product of passion and hard discipline, she created a place on Instagram she could inspire people to embrace dream travel vacations as glamorous, exciting, and ambitious.

First and foremost, Roxana is a luxury hotel connoisseur. Only the most esteemed historical properties and dream travel vacations make it onto her page. “My page is for the discerning traveller, the kind who have travelled in their life. They are self-made and want to appreciate these kinds of historical properties. They want the best life can offer them out of their money,” Roxana explains. With a sixth sense for properties that whisk travellers back in time, Roxana seeks out the most exclusive and antique properties in Europe, including exclusive holes in Monte Carlo, Cote D’azur, and Prague. Her photographs invite travellers to envision really how a place is, from her eyes and undocumented angles, rather than what you see on the page of a guidebook.

In the modern world, the magic and wonder of travel can seem lost in the haze of modern realities. Roxana revives the golden age of travel of the 50s and the 60s and pays homage to an era of lavish luxuries when travel was still glamorous and jetsetters truly dressed for the occasion. Having spent the past 20 years in suits, she dons pastel-cream swing dresses, cartwheel hats, and delicate ruffles for her photographs. This is who she is at heart – an old soul who truly believes travellers deserve to feel extraordinary. Explaining why she likes to keep things fanciful, Roxana says, “I want to create this aura that travel is truly dreamy and wonderful, because that’s how I genuinely feel about it.” Nowadays, there are vlogs, Tiktoks, and an endless list of other social media sites, but Roxana keeps her fantasyscape just to her Instagram page and, here, she displays wanderlust and opulence in its finest incarnation.

While it may seem like it on the surface, Roxana isn’t a luxury travel influencer and content creator full-time. She spent the past twenty years climbing the corporate ladder, wearing suits, and building valuable business attributes. Now, she still works full-time for a French multinational corporation alongside her travel business. Rather than compromising her passion for either one, she lets her creativity and conviction flourish on both sides. “It’s balancing, not to lose my passion in either one,” she says. A self-proclaimed workaholic, she just adores working. Behind the dreamy scenes, there is business acumen and a drive to deliver, because being a travel content creator is more than just the dream travel vacations. It’s also perseverance, timekeeping, and lots of deliverables, characteristics that transfer easily from her corporate career. Like her husband, who works long hours in architecture, they enjoy being adventurers on the side, spending six weeks of holiday hunting down tropical luxury and old-time European opulence. “I love it this way, and I’ve never felt overwhelmed,” she says.

Behind the glamorous tropical scenes and the architectural finesse of some of Europe’s grandest historical properties, Roxana has one message for her followers. “If you dream it, you can do it. And better yet, you can do it in a beautiful manner.” This is Roxana’s take on luxury travel, and the feeling she wants travellers to take away. While her page (@wanderlust_voyager on Instagram and Facebook) is there to ignite dream travel vacations and evoke the glamorous era of travel, she also believes travel should be extraordinary, and her posts are there to help it stay that way.
