There’s a level of determination that comes with creating a luxury travel influencer brand from the ground up. As the pressure to produce high-quality content rises, many struggle to find their place within the expanding industry. Beata is one travel influencer who has achieved success within the industry with her brand known as Bee on Cloud 9. Specifically, through her self-taught photography skills, Beata is bringing a new level of cinematography to her visual travel content. The niche that Beata occupies is changing the perception of what it means to be a travel influencer. In fact, Beau Monde Traveler had the lovely opportunity of speaking with Beata to learn more about how she uses her creative and visual skills to create such a successful brand.

Regarding Beata’s socials, she currently maintains a following of 63.6K on her Instagram account named beeoncloud9. As she shared with BMT, her audience is mostly made up of women from the U.S., Italy, and the EU. This predominate female audience allows Beata to incorporate a level of fashion and attention to design within her visual content. Additionally, as a self-taught photographer, Beata is the one capturing photos and videos, editing the visual content, and selecting music for reels. This attention to the visual portion of her brand as a travel influencer showcases her creative nature. As for her travel blog, Beata produces written content based on her travel experiences to share with her followers. Moreover, located on her blog is a map that shows the location Beata is currently visiting. This addition adds an interactive aspect to her brand for her followers.

Beata’s Story

Growing up in a small town in the Czech Republic, Beata considered herself to be a curious child full of big dreams. Beata often spent time outdoors in nature, an activity she still enjoys when she visits her mother. With a dream of traveling but an inability to pursue this as a child, Beata took her first trip at 16 with her school to Paris. This trip only further sparked a desire to explore the world and pursue her dream of traveling. Once in University, Beata obtained a degree in the Italian language and moved to Italy. This trip allowed Beata to practice her Italian and explore a culture she is still fond of. After spending a year in Italy and finishing her master’s degree, Beata moved to Spain where she taught Italian and again immersed herself into the culture of her new home. This common theme of navigating new countries and diving into the culture of the region is apparent in Beata’s story. Beata’s next adventure after Spain was Dubai where she got a job as a flight attendant for Emirates. She currently still resides in Dubai and loves the safe atmosphere of the city as well as its evolving nature.

The Origin Story of Bee on Cloud 9

About a week before moving to Dubai, Beata started her journey as a travel influencer with the creation of her travel blog known as Bee on Cloud 9 in 2014. The clever name stems in part from her name as people had an easier time saying the nickname “Bee” instead of Beata. The other part of her brand’s name comes from a sense of being happy as the phrase ‘on cloud 9’ refers to that concept. It also refers to Beata’s career as a flight attendant of flying with the clouds in the sky. After coming up with a name behind the brand, Beata slowly started gaining followers. Beata’s experience as Editor in Chef for a Lifestyle Magazine in the Czech Republic helped her to create well-written blog posts that could gain the attention they needed to grow a fan base. In fact, Beata shared that her role as Editor in Chef in 2010, allowed her to have a taste of the luxury lifestyle as she had access to fashion shows, concerts, and more. This experience of writing pieces within the luxury sphere can be reflected in Beata’s blog posts as they capture her travels with a storytelling aspect. It wouldn’t be until 2018 that Beata as she shared, would start to take the blog seriously so that she could pursue a full-time career.

Cinematic Content

The process of creating content for her blog was a challenge as Beata had to manage a career as a flight attendant with a career as a travel blogger. In fact, Beata shared that she would take her tripod during a layover and try to capture high-quality content either on her own or with the help of her colleagues. Often, Beata would only have two days to try and capture enough content for her audience. It was at this point Beata realized she couldn’t expand her brand or put enough of her creative energy into her content unless she quit her job, which she did last year. As for the visual content that Beata captures, she utilizes her love for fashion to coordinate outfits based on the location she’ll be filming at. For example, during a recent trip to the Maldives, Beata planned her outfits around the iconic blue color of the water. In fact, Beata shared that she often creates vision boards while researching the next destination she’ll visit so that she can ensure her outfits compliment the location’s background. After researching a location and finally arriving, Beata takes her tripod and begins capturing the cinematic content that her followers crave. It’s clear after scrolling through her Instagram and blog posts that Beata has an eye for detail as each picture perfectly captures the mood of the location and the feeling that Beata wants her followers to experience.

The Future for Bee on Cloud 9

 

As for the future of Beata’s brand, she plans to create Presets that will be located on her blog as well as potentially a YouTube channel to create vlogs of her travels. This expansion to YouTube would allow Beata to showcase her talent in videography and editing more as well as share more with her followers regarding her travel experiences. Moreover, the Presets portion of her brand is something that her followers have been asking for so this business move will prove to be quite successful.

Beata’s brand has transformed from a blog focused on general travel to a brand focused on the luxury side of travel. This transition showcases Beata’s innate talent for understanding her audience and the level of dedication she needed to maintain to grow her career. Although her decision to quit her job as a flight attendant was difficult, it has allowed Beata to focus her creative energy solely on the Bee on Cloud 9 brand. Of course, her success within the industry can also be attributed to her photography skills to produce visual content that her followers enjoy seeing. As Beata continues to grow as a luxury travel influencer, it’s clear that her followers will support each new adventure that Beata takes.
