Cashel Palace is one of the world’s first two Michelin Key hotels and was rewarded for their celebration of food and their ethos of quality and seasonality. They received this accolade due to their menu being created to celebrate outstanding Irish cuisine and its fine dining offerings. 

Since opening its doors in March 2022, Cashel Palace has enveloped guests in luxury and surrounded them in nature. Located between town and countryside, the property is set within a magnificent and meticulously restored Palladian manor, which was built in 1732.

In the shadow of the iconic Rock of Cashel in Tipperary, Cashel Palace epitomizes the finest of Irish hospitality. Its dining offering delivers a deep connection to the local Golden Vale, just a beautiful one-hour drive from Cork airport.

Cashel Palace Hotel’s fine dining restaurant, The Bishop’s Buttery, was awarded its first Michelin Star in 2024. Sitting below a dramatic vaulted ceiling and around a large central fireplace, the warm and inviting atmosphere surrounds guests. Serving lunch (Friday to Sunday from 12:30 pm and Dinner Tuesday to Sunday from 6:30pm), dishes are paired with an outstanding selection from the extensive wine list.

Offering Lunch and Afternoon Tea in the Main House of Cashel Palace, another food and beverage highlight at Cashel Palace is had in the Queen Anne Room. The cozy ambiance, adorned with deep sofas, high ceilings, chandeliers, tall windows, a log fire and walls hanging with equine art and is met with delicate bone china, signature loose leaf tea and decadent treats for a special experience.

Whether lingering over delicious pastries, savories and cakes at Afternoon Tea or gourmet sandwiches and hearty soups at lunch, the Queen Anne Room provides the perfect setting for a relaxing and refined meal. For the best way to enjoy a carefree afternoon, sit on the Garden Terrace, overlooking Cashel Palace’s glorious gardens for a spectacular view.

For those looking for a casual dining option, Mikey Ryan’s Bar & Kitchen is a popular choice for lunch and dinner for locals and hotel guests alike. Designed for an informal and relaxed dining experience, whether sitting inside, at the bar or al fresco in their outdoor space, Mikey Ryan’s is located on Main Street.

Debuted in 2023, The Secret Garden and The Glass Well extend the restaurant’s outdoor offerings providing a perfect place for private gatherings. The Secret Garden is a beautifully restored walled garden for small groups and The Glass Well seats up to 12 guests and offers guests the opportunity to sit in a weather-proofed pergola, with an automated roof, doors and heating. It even offers a very special secret hidden in the floor.

Beyond its culinary offerings, whether guests are craving a pint of Guinness, a glass of champagne or your favorite bespoke cocktail, Cashel Palace boasts three distinct cocktail bars. The Guinness Bar – open to residents and non-residents – celebrates the importance of brewing history as Archbishop Price, who resided at Cashel Palace from 1744-1752, was godfather to one Arthur Guinness, who would go on to create the famous Irish stout. 

Whether sitting fireside or at the bar with friends, a cold pint of Guinness, or your favorite tipple, is greatly enjoyed. Overlooking the Garden Terrace and 300-year-old mulberry trees, The Residents Cocktail Bar – – is the properties intimate cocktail bar which offers a selection of bespoke cocktails, exclusive whiskeys, champagnes and fine wines. 

Meanwhile, for those seeking an authentic Irish pub experience, Donoghue’s Irish Pub is the palce to be. The Pub invites hotel guests and locals into their cozy and warm space with a boisterous atmosphere. On Mondays guests can enjoy lively traditional Irish music sessions while Thursday’s invite local talent and a mix of entertainment genres to Donoghue’s. Featuring classic décor with dark wood furnishings, guests will soon be tapping their feet and singing along to the festive tunes together.

Lastly, at The Wine Cellar, head sommelier Farrah Scanlan presents wines from sought-after vintages to modern classics. Guided by Farrah’s insightful recommendations, guests can pair wines from sought-after vintages to modern classics with meals at Bishop’s Buttery.

While not on property, but led by the culinary team behind Cashel Palace’s Michelin-starred Bishop’s Buttery, Cashel palace debuted Sadler’s Restaurant in 2024. Located in the heart of the historic town of Fethard, just 20 minutes from the hotel, the team presents sophisticated casual dining with a blend of local flavor.

Paying homage to the local racing history with motifs – horseshoes from Ballydoyle, images adorning the walls from Coolmore Stud and bridals of champion racehorses – it is a space which caters to the needs of both locals and tourists.

Highlights from the brunch menu include chorizo baked eggs, french brioche toast, and a Full Tipp Breakfast. Lunch highlights include BBQ Irish Haloumi Salad, Sticky Five Spiced Chicken and the Bookmaker’s Sandwich.

Furthermore, completing the cuisine showcasing the rich agricultural heritage of the region is an array of wines, artisanal cocktails crafted with local spirits and ingredients and a bespoke selection of Irish whiskeys and local craft beers. The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner and is ideally located to provide guests with a variety of equine-related activities.
